      ... complexes being constructed as well as disruptions due to an underground rail system being put in. These shopping centres will change the face of Saigon. The enjoyment factor previously is that it was different from the progress in the other Asian capitals. But I guess they cannot afford to ignore change and expectations. We just hope enough of the old Saigon remains. What has not changed apparently is the chaotic motorcycle traffic that just floods the streets.

      ... A million ways to die in the west. Not bad for a comedy western. Getting through customs at Bangkok was easy and we had a man with a sign " Mr Greg and Mr Phil" waiting for us. He drove us to Dave and Noy's place about one and a half hours away. These people are lovely friends of Greg. Noy cooked some lovely Thai spaghetti that went well with Dave's beers.       Woke up and had some water. The Russians, who turned out to be Polish left that morning for Bangkok and the French guy also left. He was on a tight budget but not short on time so he was taking the train to Bangkok, which takes over 5 hours, but only costs 30 baht! The air con is only on from 9 pm to 5 am in this pace so it gets hot early, though there are ceiling fans. left around 10.30am to go and look for the 'Sanctuary of Truth' which was nearby according to the map, ...

      ... afternoon(16/8) and after today we have just 3 days left. We went for a beach walk yesterday morning. That was nice with lots of condos and apartments and hotels but pretty hot and humid. We were away for a couple of hours and then back for a much needed cool off in the pool. We shared a club sandwich by the pool for lunch.
