... 2x Red belly blacks!!
By the time we saw the 4th snake I had jumped on to the back of the Ute!! I was freaking out lol! After that every noise I heard, I jumped lol!
We also saw 2x cows get butchered, (not nice) as they had 2x lame cows, that had a broken something or other + were no use!
It was quite sad to leave the training farm, as we all had so much fun! But our group from Rainbow Beach got split up, so we were really excited for ...
... guys Adam had met through his Arrow course, fabulous familles and had a great afternoon of lunch, wine and laughter. They both had 4 kids each, and so there were 10 kids under 10, but it wasn’t noisy at all. Most of the time the kids played with the hose outside (bizarre how you can play with water up here) and they spent a while trying to catch the chicken (tormenting them really). It was great to have some adult conversation, and to enjoy friends ...

... devils, kookabura's, wombats (which do square poo's!) and all the deadly snakes. It was a ripper of a day out and the best bit was probably seeing the crocs fed in the crocoseum. Criiiikey!! The next day at Noosa I went for a hike around Noosa National Park which is right next to the sea. Got to see more koala's in the trees and down to a secluded beach. Which again, turned out to be nudist and again used only by old men. Jeeeez, they don't put any signs up warning you!
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia rob78... It looked wonderful by night, all lit up, and we had a fabulous evening with our new, very generous friend, who footed the majority of the bill. Whilst we were glad to leave the suburban slum, we became quite attached to Brisbane, with its beautiful architecture and generous locals. I was quite sad to leave the next day, but eager to get to a nicer site to dump the old backpack. Bring on the campsite at Burleigh Heads :)
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia joannesharpe... perhaps we should set up an exchange scheme, Brisbane can have some of our pigeons and we'll have some of their Ibis. After the Garden tour we got an all day travelcard that allows you travel on buses, trains, catamarran and ferrys and we milked it for all it was worth. We travelled up and down the river all day stopping at various parks and suburbs. We had run out of sandwich stuff so my packed lunch today was bread and butter so to supplement it I bought the ...
Brisbane, Australia yvetteandjack... busy making other plans. Well it was actually John Lennon that said that wasnt it ? But you get the idea ! Other than all that we have just been trying to explore and keep ourselves busy on a tight budget. The tent has helped things - its a good thing we like camping so much because its a nice cheap thing to do at the weekend !! G bumped into another friend from home - dont know ive written up about that already? Anyway it was pretty ...
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia christinauk... balls, the rain was like being under a waterfall.. so seeing out of the window was near impossible. We continued slowly through it and i have to say i was pretty scared as i was driving. We eventually made it through but had to stop to calm down and relax for a min.. it was really bad. However we made it safely to Sydney and was glad to see our friends Sarah, Paul and Laura from home. It was lovely to be back in Sydney we enjoyed it here. We spent ...
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia nickytom... together for the next 9 hours. The word to accurately describe the exhilarating feeling of taking off from Australian terra firma is not one that I have in my lexicon. All I could do was hold Leah's hand and shake it excitedly saying 'Oh my God, Oh my God this is it'. The flight was pretty good; plenty of entertainment options with our own tv screens which even had games and we played trivia until the food arrived which was quite tasty (very surprising for plane food).
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia flickiteeAfter departing from Sydney by air we found ourselves landing in Brisbane, the capital and largest city in the northeast state of Queensland. Located on the Brisbane river (go figure!) Brisbane is the gateway to the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast and their many attractions. Brisbane at the time was in a boom stage, with many new buildings in the process of construction and a young population that brings a sense of freshness to it. It is a city that has ...
