22.11 - When I looked out of the window this morning, it made for a dismal view. The heavens had opened and let out a **** load of water. This was at 10.30 and since then, it hasn't stopped. I was pretty tired this morning which was due to another fairly late night but a snorer in our room was partly responsible for this. When I was ready, I left the hostel and went to Global Gossip to recharge my phone card and call home. I also wanted to go see the Sebel hotel but I couldn't find it. From t...

I had a conference to go to in Sydney and I sercetly planned for Janine to come along with me. I arranged for my parents to come up and look after the kids. Rhys paid for Janine's flight so she did not find out. On Thursday before we left, I emailed her her ticket and then took questions from Janine for the rest of the day convening her that everything was planned and she should just releax and get excited about the trip.
We flew out on the Saturday lunchtime and stayed...

... s not a job I would like to have though. They have to drive, and apparently keep people entertained as well. Definitely not something I want to do. More power to them because it’s not an easy job. I think the thing I would have the most problem with is the constant talking. Don’t think I have ever spent an entire day talking all the time.
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia carpefeline... getting settled into the sand. She works at a travel agents on the high street so we found her easily enough and had a good chat about everything we have been up to since we last saw her on Fraser Island. She gave us some brochures for New Zealand and Fiji to help with the planning for everything, she says that everything is going mental at the minute and everyone is going to Fiji for xmas and new year and all the hostels are filling up already so book ...

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia ctompkins11... pretty tired. Went through the Southern Oceans exhibit. Saw leopard seals and fairy penguins. Did a little shopping at the zoo. Tyler got some plastic penguin toys and an emu chick stuffed animal. Bought a stuffed animal dingo as a b-day present for her best friend.
Spectacular weather all day. Not a cloud in the sky. Temperature was perfect.
By lunchtime we were pretty beat. Hopped back on the ferry to ...
... I had been contacted by my good friend Owen's big bro, Anthony, who was here in Sydney working for a bit, and he informed me he had a spare ticket to a football World Cup qualifier game between Australia and Bahrain for that evening, magic, I was desperately in need of a football fix. We met at central station and took the train out to the, very impressive stadium, catching up and sharing traveller stories on the way. The game itself was average, OZ won 2-0 which gave us ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia robbiedinho... quite a few people have been there over 6 months! So it took a while to get use to it but now we all feel quite at home! I met three really nice girls (Harriet, Esther and Sophie) on the bus who are also leaving Sydney tomorrow morning so I will be spending the next few days with them and then hopefully meet others travelling in the same time scale that I have! We had a lovely day on Friday in the city. Weather was ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia annaobeirne... her way up, who wanted to find out what the view was like. well, at first, i thought she was absolutely mad to stop us that far up from the ground, but, after a minute or so, i forgot about the height and we had a rather pleasant conversation about the view, how amazing it was that we were that far up, and how weird it was that mostly girls were attempting the climb while their boyfriends or husbands all seemed to be electing for feet firmly on the ground?! anyway, upon my ...
