Historical Traveler Reviews Seaview Patong Hotel

    Fantastic

    from

This hotel was right at the very end of the resort, right on the font. It had two lovely pools with various waterfalls, water features etc. The rooms were large with balconies and large bathrooms. We were provided with beach towels, a beach bag, free safe, robes, slippers etc. The rooms were cleaned every day and had a 'green' approach as in they would only clean your towels and bedding of you asked them to. Breakfast was a banquet with everything imaginable to chose from. The staff were really attentive and nothing was a problem to them. Although at the very end of the resort it was only seconds from bars and restaurants thought Bangla road was about a 15 minute walk. I would recommend this hotel especially when walking around you see the alternatives!! Unless you can afford to move up a price bracket I'd take the Seaview anyday.

    Super hôtel

    from

    from

Lovely hotel very close to the beach

    from

We stayed at this hotel in October 06 and absolutely loved it. It is practically right on the beach and within easy walking distance of shops, markets, restaurants etc. The pool area is very nice and the food served at the various restaurants was excellent. We found the staff to be very friendly. We would definitely stay there again.

    Nice location, great Hotel, BUT...........

    from

We stayed at the Seaview on a 10 night package. We had been to Phuket in 2001 and loved it but post Tsunami it isnt the same. The hotel itself is fantastic. There are a couple of rooms with no view at all so be sure to request a seaview room. The pool is a definate highlight.Breakfast was nice but not outstanding, the staff were fantastic. the other guy in the earlier review was right, the beds are VERY hard. But it was good value for money. Phuket tho is not cheap anymore and Baan Ram Pah was VERY expensive, over US$ 100 per person. Last Time we were there it was about US$20> As a result we ate alot at the restaurant in the hotel. They give you loads of discount vouchers and the set menu was outstanding.

Trips out for the day are also expensive, over $50 a person, and even a tuk tuk along the main road starts at $ 3. considering its a bit of a walk and it was very hot, that adds up quickly. We stopped off in Singapore along the way and it was FANTASTIC> Im sorry to say that in spite of the great hotel, Phuket wont see me again.

    Seaview hotel - patong

    from

Lovely hotel, good location opp the beach and away from the busy side of town but within walking distance. Rooms nice and clean, all pretty new (after the tsumani),plenty of loungers available around the pool, hotel staff very friendly, breakfast room is at the front of the hotel so you can look out across the sea, (food was good and reasonably priced) - i would, without a doubt, stay at this hotel again!

    The burro

    from

Nice hotel but the beds are like sleeping on a rock. Breakfast is just average like most hotels seem to be serveing. Nice location on the South end of the beach.

Best of both worlds in Patong

    from

This is a superb hotel, the great thing is it's located on Patong Seafront but right at the end of the beach so you are in a quiet and relaxed position yet only a 5 minute walk to the shops and nightlife.

The hotel itself was superb value for money. Booked through a company called Q Holidays who seemed to be the cheapest & for a small supplement we got a room which you can swim up to and out of. A great way to start the day !

Lovely staff, clean & fresh rooms. Will definately return !!

... my arms out and free fall. 50metres and 3 seconds later, I was about ankles deep in water and getting sprung back up. My first bungy jumping experience. What an exhilarating activity. I had asked to touch the water on my jump. Linda opted for a traditional bungy. She did not enjoy it as much as I did. If you know me, I'm an adrenaline junky and crave activities like this.

When we were done, we got back in the shuttle ...

Well, we are officially 'trained' sailors! Both Ginette and I completed our ASA 101, 103 and 104 courses and are qualified now as 'Day Skipper' and bareboat charter captains! These qualifications also enable us to apply for the International Certificate of Competency (ICC) which is a recognized yacht captain qualification that will keep us out of trouble in some places (mainly Europe) that require you to hold a qualification. It is also important for insurance purposes to have ...

    Day 4

Day 4 starts with a lot of rain and Emma feeling quite unwell. We can tell this as she does not want ANY breakfast which is unheard of. She is usually a fiend at breakfast. Come to think of it I didn't feel so crash hot myself. So after breakfast Emma and I went to convalesce while others went on another great floatation device hunt. Who knew what they would come back with this time! After a while emma felt well enough to attempt the pool where we met the others back from their ...

... It was a quick and easy flight. After 11 hours or so everyone had had a gut full. We got through customs easily and hopped into our minivan headed for the hotel. The look on the kids faces when they saw their amazing pirate bedroom was priceless. The most awesome part was when the staff asked us to take a family photo in the room. After about 600 hours of travelling that is exactly what I felt like doing. The resultant photo was not too bad considering..... Time to ...

A night with the sea gypsies

My favorite meal thus far! And that is saying a lot, being that the food in Thailand is unbelievably delicious. The spices that they use are...spciy! But so flavorful and all around delicious.

A few of Casey's friends from ISB are here vacationing and last night was a real treat when they took us to a sea gypsy village on the water. The sea ...
