Seattle, Washington, United States bettadaze... The wind was so strong that the birds were flying backward and I think I may have seen some small children and dogs take flight! The attached picture of my hair blowing in the wind doesn't do justice to how windy it really was! I arrived at Ann's in Everett around 7pm last night. This afternoon, Mary and I went to Pike Place Market and did a short driving tour of downtown Seattle. We picked up lots of goodies at the market ...
Everett, Washington, United States jenk... Today we took a 'duck' (I think it's from "DUKW", but it's an amphibious vehicle) tour of Seattle, starting with a commentary on the downtown streets. I was right - Grey's Anatomy is set here, but the building they use for the hospital is in real life actually a ABC (American Broadcasting) Radio building. Also Frasier rated a mention (the skyline in the title screen is ...
Seattle, Washington, United States meganwadey... both still exhausted but somehow, as all new parents do, they are managing. This has been helped by beginning to receive some good news! First: Sheryl's milk is coming in!!! She has been pumping and it's really exciting. This has lifted her spirits tremendously. Her body is strong and knows what to do. It's healing well from the surgery. That is not to say she is feeling 100% - she is still stiff and dealing with some pain. Second: It's 98% positive that baby KB does not ...
Seattle, United States wildwoman... Drive on down to Bellingham uneventful but again very little traffic for a Friday afternoon. We hit I-5 and proceed to make our way to Burlington to make a quick stop at Camping World to pick up some propane and look at surge protectors. Weather is clear and sunny and life is good. We are making good time and think that we could be at the Casino by 4:00. Not so, as we turn into Camping World my turn signals stop working. Now if you are driving a car this would not be the ...

We'd like to ask you all to focus energy, prayers, thoughts, wishes, etc on weekdays at 10am - Mark's tumors will be under those Radiation beams and we'll be envisioning those "unwelcome guests" as he refers to them, being zapped to oblivion while the surrounding healthy tissue is protected from damage. Much love to you all...until next post xoxoxo

Seattle, Washington, United States kimshirley28Hi Everyone - We met up almost on time (Laurie's flight was late) and have full tummies ready to head to Newark for our first night of the sabbatical journey. We'll arrive at 8:00pm ET and camp out at Howard Johnson's, with an early wake up ...
Seattle, Washington, United States rlineuropeThey sell them in the gift shop. Quackers. You know, for the Duck Ride. Since I learned about DRUMS years ago (do not buy them as gifts for someone else's home, else you'll be on their Hit List forevermore), I knew, definitely, positively, NOT to buy Quackers for the boys. I tried to divert them with teeth-rotting candy and sweets instead. It worked pretty well. It was the last Saturday of August, but it wasn't hot. We stood in ...
