... the vendors and fish mongers are just setting up for the day. It was a completely different energy, and so fun to be able to wander without the noise and hustle of the tourists.

Then back to the hotel, catch the shuttle to the ship, and All Aboard! Lunch in the MDR, nice and quiet and relaxed. A quick mandatory safety muster drill, and we off. North to Alaska...sing it Johnny Horton, sing it.

... markets and oggling at all the food, arts and crafts.

We spent some time over the road at Pier 59 before walking up the 141 stairs back to the top of our street. On our way back to the Roosevelt we did some window shopping. It was nice to skype with my family before heading to Capitol Hill for a wander around and a bite of dinner. We are loving Thai at the moment! So cheap, so much variety and super tasty.

... over 9 hours flight time to London with a 2 hour layover, then an almost 4 hour flight to Istanbul. We land at 3:30 PM, one day later. Istanbul is 9 hours ahead of Seattle. My brother, Gerry, and his wife , Sue, will be flying in from Chicago and will meet us in Istanbul.

As usual we are going there one day before the official tour begins, as we want some time to readjust to the new time zone. Also if there ...

... moments on the trip where we've had to decided to do one thing or another due to trying to fit so much in. We spent the morning visiting the site of Bruce and Brandon Lee's grave's (again, I'm sure it sounds a bit morose but we just paid our respects and left) then we went to visit the area where Kurt Cobain had spent his final days. After that we went to the edge of Lake Washington and were blown away by the view of the mountain ranges in the distance. It was then time to return ...
