Arrival in Sri Lanka!
... next steps. The best part of the place was actually the tuktuk driver (who was friends with our hotel owner) and his wife (who worked at the hotel). He was super nice and helped us with travel arrangement for no fee, drove us around town and was generally him and his wife were the sweetest folks we met! And I'm not usually one to warm up to tuktuk drivers....
So we're off to our next adventure - to the centre/north of Sri Lanka, to see some ancient cities! Stay ...
Heat and humidity!
... the main part of the meal. This little place only does rice and curry and so we assume it must be good. We order and we get rice, chicken curry and 5 different vegetable curries too – delicious and only £2 each! Beer was a bit warm, though that was our only complaint, but a big one for Graham.
Next day, it is still mentally hot and so we decide to hang out around the pool in the small resort hotel next to our guest ...
Livin' in Luxury!
... whole shebang! Lucky for us we are staying with the Gomes family and dining like royalty (free of charge!)
-Buddhas are everywhere! There are shrines set up all over the city with massive Buddha statues with flashing lights and enormous and brightly decorated trees.
-Crosswalks are respected...somewhat! A big difference from India, crosswalks and sometimes respected here. Probably a good 50% of the time, traffic halts ...

Magen und Darm kommen langsam wieder ins Gleichgewicht, lassen sogar ein Frühstück zu. Dazu gibt es Rundreise-Tipps von Nishan, dem freundlichen Inhaber des Hauses. Wir fahren gedanklich Routen ab und beschließen "wie die Einheimischen" zu reisen: die "Klimaanlagen" haben schlichtweg eine Klinke und Beinfreiheit ein Privileg für das Geschöpf hinterm Steuer.
