... mousse with strawberry balsamic ..... in reality it was a very very very strange mousse...mushed aubergines which were held together with polycel or similar, and flavoured with VERY strong mint! The cream and cherry on top was excellent as was the strawberry sauce...ho hum!! (David ate it ...but I just ate the cherries and the sauce!)

(we will not be serving this dessert to guests in the future!)

... up with fairy lights. The lead guy who arranges the trips was a firefly fanatic and decided to bore us for 30 minutes beforehand with an enthusiastically (on his behalf) presentation/seminar on the biology of fireflies. Anyway the trip was good and worth it, unfortunately it is that time again when we need to escape to the solitary feeling of an island - Pulau Kapas it is then.

... at a 'kedai kopi' which sold Malay food. I even ate noodles for the first time since I had food poisoning after eating a Pad Thai over a month ago. We crossed the road to 'Payung Cafe' and had another can of Tiger, which was a whole RM1 cheaper! There was a seating area overlooking the river which was quite nice. A little Malay girl came over to us and kept saying "take picture, take picture" over and over again as Andrew had been taking a picture ...
