    ... downriver towards the entrance. By the time we reached the car we were sodden on the bottom half but luckily dry on top and had dry feet (thanks mum Baker for the excellent coats and shoes!!!) The journey back down was easier as Duke of the cloud had cleared and we again encounter a few Deer. We retreated back to the room to dry off and a well earned meal!     Today we went on the Jomon Sugi trail which took us 7h10mins to complete. It was relatively flat so a pleasant walk. It is a very famous hike as the area is home to the largest cedar tree in the world and possibly the oldest one as well (estimation go from 2000 to 7000 years old). ...

    Arrived around midday in Yakushimna. Left the atrocious weather of Kagoshima behind and was welcome on this beautiful island by sunshine. Found the camp which is not too close from the ferry (1hour walk) had a picnic in the park and little nap and then called it a day.
