Woke up at 5:30 a.m. as we were still in BC time, perfect opportunity to get up and watch the sun rise! Quickly dressed and drove to Diamond Head in hopes to hike up to the top before it was too late. Unfortunately, 2 bus loads of asian tourists beat us to it and the hike up was slow, we're talking painfully slow. Didn't make it in time to see the …
Woke up early to drive to Kailua on the east side of Oahu for a kayak tour that we bought a groupon for with 'Two Good Kayak'. Didn't have time for breakfast before leaving so went to the "cafe" across the street from the kayak place which actually turned out to be an old style diner - hippy/hawaiian style. We definitely didn't fit in as once the …

Wandered around town for a couple of hours and then had a nice relaxed dinner in a bar across from Waikiki ...
How has this hotel rated in the past?
The hotel was easy enough to find and was a very short walk to Waikiki Beach and many shops. The hotel was under minor construction when we arrived. Probably why we got such a good deal. Either way it didn't effect our stay. When we booked the room it was described to have an ocean view. If this meant tall buildings and run down apartments then yes. Maybe an ocean view 20 years ago before all the beach front hotels were built. The front desk was always helpful and gave us complimentary beach towels, coffee, tea, and ice cold lemon water.
