Woke up at 5:30 a.m. as we were still in BC time, perfect opportunity to get up and watch the sun rise! Quickly dressed and drove to Diamond Head in hopes to hike up to the top before it was too late. Unfortunately, 2 bus loads of asian tourists beat us to it and the hike up was slow, we're talking painfully slow. Didn't make it in time to see the …
Woke up early to drive to Kailua on the east side of Oahu for a kayak tour that we bought a groupon for with 'Two Good Kayak'. Didn't have time for breakfast before leaving so went to the "cafe" across the street from the kayak place which actually turned out to be an old style diner - hippy/hawaiian style. We definitely didn't fit in as once the …
... I FINALLY got leid for the first time since being here (as in the flower necklace.. lol). It began with some formal luau things, such as blessing the food, then we were free to serve ourselves. It was buffet style which was nice because you could pick and choose what you wanted instead of getting a bunch of weird stuff set in front of you. With all the allergy junk I've been dealing with, I decided to stick with fruit and salad. Everyone was trying to get me to try the pork ...

We perused the street market in Waikiki and bought souvenirs for friends and family. Later that afternoon was Laura's graduation, which was, thankfully, shorter than we had expected. She looked amazing, for the whole two seconds she was on stage! Congrats, Laura! She is now the recipient of a ...

TravelPod Member ReviewsSeaside Hotel Waikiki Honolulu
The hotel was easy enough to find and was a very short walk to Waikiki Beach and many shops. The hotel was under minor construction when we arrived. Probably why we got such a good deal. Either way it didn't effect our stay. When we booked the room it was described to have an ocean view. If this meant tall buildings and run down apartments then yes. Maybe an ocean view 20 years ago before all the beach front hotels were built. The front desk was always helpful and gave us complimentary beach towels, coffee, tea, and ice cold lemon water.
