Confirmation of my delusions of adequacy

... was that I actually think I am kinda fit. I mean I run and stuff..... wouldn't have thought so today! I was a mess. My legs hurt, I couldn't catch my breath. What a loser! So today I have alot more respect for all of those people who can ride a bike. Good on you! I'll stick to running or the car!
- Then another thing which didn't need any confirmation of today is my relationship with animals. These little things ...

Strong currents, sharks, huge spiders and snakes!

... since i've been moaning about other peoples snoring...)

Friday packd up and checked out! Went to the tax office and registered for an oz tax file number so can now get some work. Also our six-some split up with chris, me and the crazy ithai (spencer's nickname) heading to scarborough beach where we registered into a new hostel. Lovely place with really nice atmosphere, everyone loves to have a joke nd just sit out back. Nice vibe. The beach was where we spent the ...

Salam dari Perth part II

... 2 jengkal je kot. Taklah cam penguin dekat kutub utara tu kan. Dalam tu dah dipesan jangan bising-bising dan jangan pasang flash camera. At 12 adalah staff situ yang start gathering all the penguins dan bagi makan. Penguin ni jenis selagi ada dia akan makan, sampai la kita berhenti. After a while menengok penguin tu aku terbosan pulak. So we decided to go outside dan nak nengok kalau ada wild penguin sekita pulau tu. Hmmm mimpilah, sebab kata staff situ petang-petang or memalam ...

GOODBYE AUSTRALIA!!!!!

... on arrival or...and this was a BIG OR...we could cash in our chips and say goodbye to the Land Down Under. Get out while we still could, leave on a high note before we got too desperate. Bye bye Skippy, see ya later Bruce, so long Sheila, later Bro. It was quite an emotional decision to make, but, we both knew it was for the best. Australia has been good to us, it's been even better for us. We've met the most amazing people and shared some fantastic experiences. In no way ...

Kangeroo Capers

... going for 13 months. OUR NEXT ADVENTURE PERHAPS? We also stopped at Denham where Judith got locked in the car. She was like a puppy dog overheating. Luckily, Dan heard her yelping and let her out! In the early evening we arrived at Gregories camp in the Francois Peron National Park - a real bush camping experience. The flies were a nuisance, so we wore fly nets over our faces - we looked like a ...

Bags of fun

... only a small pocket in the front where I kept a few things but it meant I had to walk around for about six weeks with the pouch open and thus unusable. However the main problem happened in Perth where the zip somehow got damaged (more travelling) the seam came away from the bag. In other words my back pack was now useless. I had to bite the bullet and see A if I could afford to get it fixed and B buy a new bag. A quick check on my ...

It rains in Perth too!

We had a very relaxing evening on Tuesday, with dinner courtesy of Laura, although poor Dave was back in the swing virtually straight away at work and didn't get home until nearly 9.00. After we had eaten I got my first 'Home Theatre Experience' when Dave, Barb P and I settled down in complete luxury to watch (my choice) 'Downfall', which is a film based on the last days of Hitler and Eva Braun and their entourage, in the bunker in ...

and we're back where it all began!

... sand dunes for quite some time, we were off again and up to cervantes and the pinnacles desert, where huge, sand formations stood like towers. not for a while would we experience all day long road trips, taking us most of the length of england, and so we arrived in cervantes not too late in the day to do absolutely nothing, which would later be the case. as for cervantes, it was another small town on the seafront, a little bigger than lancelin, but still only full of a handle of shops ...

Mission Accomplished !!

G'Day Mates! So, it's come down to our final entry in Australia! Gee, 10.5 months go by quickly! I had several titles in mind for this final entry. Initially I thought of "Elvis has left the building"! Elsie thought that was stupid! Then I thought of "Beam me up Scotty"! Elsie thought that was stupid too! Then I thought of "Leavin' on a Jet Plane"! I didn't even ask Elsie what she thought of that one! So ...

A Midwinter Day's Reality !

... is England, ours is DownUnder! Shakespeare wrote A Midsummer Night in the mid 1590's while Elsie and I danced to Culture Club's "Karma Chameleon" in the mid 1980's! How much different can we be to Shakespeare's characters? On this day however, we enjoyed a lovely winter's afternoon at Scarborough Beach! Families came out too, to enjoy the mild afternoon. Still ...
