      ... cut through Maine instead of returning down the same uninteresting highways through New Brunswick and Quebec. This worked out well as our route took us away from the interstate, down country roads and gave us a glimpse into life in this little known state.

      Tonight we're staying at a HoJo on the outskirts of Bangor before heading further west tomorrow. As of right now the next destination is still up in the air.

      Monday it came. I ran to the post office in the rain and they awarded me an 11 month VISA. I leave Sunday.

      ... like the leaves on the trees that are waiting to turn and take the next big step: fly! My VISA is being held up. The inch thick application I had to prepare in order to apply for the Research Visa, can't fit through the mail slot at the Indian Consulate...however, last night I had a dream that it came! So maybe sometime this week ...
