Nokomis Beach and Pelican Alley
... say I got a nice sunburn!
Went to the Pelican Alley restaurant after for lunch. It's a little hole in the wall restaurant but one of our FAVORITE to go to. It's on a coastal alley and there are lots of pelicans there sunning. Well, there was this one bird that decided to visit our outside table. What a hoot! Stayed there quite a while waiting for something to eat. I was afraid he was going to steal our food!

First day
Arrived in Sarasota around 6 pm tonight. Bryan, Kate and Marilyn were waiting for me. The GPS lady took us the long way but we eventually arrived at our vacation home for the week. After bringing in the luggage we headed down to the beach before it got dark. The beach is just down the street from where we are staying. The sand is so white and smooth! I can't wait to spend tomorrow at the beach. So far the vacation is off to a relaxing ...
Poised to splash
... Myers, whose downtown area has had a relatively recent face lift. It's very attractive with lots of nice restaurants and shops.
The anchorage was so nice. Being very close to the Fort Myers marina, we could easily dinghy over to the marina, leave our dinghy and walk to town or ride the bus almost anywhere we needed to go.

... s stay. Later we learned that wi-fi was coming before the sewer—interesting how our priorities have changed! We ate a bite, then were off to see Mom. My sister Linda and brother Bart with his wife Jeanne and daughter Madelyn also stopped by. Sadly, we learned that my Aunt Eda (pronounced “Ada”) had passed at the age of 91.
