Fort Flagler State Park, Washington, United States pnwtravelWednesday we drove north to Everett to visit the Boeing. We took a tour of the 472 million cubic foot plant. Well, not exactly... we saw two sections of it. It's amazing to see how many planes are inside and how the process all comes together. We saw the new 787 Dreamliners being assembled. And we saw the Dream Lifter - a modified aircraft that can ...
Everett, Washington, United States smchic92Well, another oil change and a new front tire. Skagit Valley Polaris folks couldn't be nicer. My, how the money flies. Hard to believe the big fella is over 13,000 mi old now. Ran an errand in Bellingham and now riding south along the coast (Chuckanut Dr and Rte 11 - ah, the evergreen scent) to Anacortes. The road is glorious with twisties ...
Mount Vernon, Washington, United States visionrider... each other and to find where our lives and hearts intersected. The next morning, a Sunday, we put our disassembled packs and cart into Lisa and Chips car and headed for their Sunday gathering. There we were again warmly welcomed by the congregation which, by the way, was lively and enthusiastic and was clearly a loving community with lots of meaningful programs and activities. During the beginning of the service we gave an abbreviated version of our skit to an ...
Port Townsend, Washington, United States peaceforearth... this our final pod has arrived, a half hour past dark, and a couple of hours past the rest of us. We covered over 100 kilometres today and the ride was 7-8 hours for most of the crew, with the last group rolling in ELEVEN hours after take-off. Everybody STILL seems in remarkably high spirits - it was a fairly confusing day as all the groups took somewhat different routes. As an example, our pod ended up trying to cross a car ...

Victoria, British Columbia, Canada tll-tina... eve)-Edinburgh is notorious for their crazy Kilt wearing, booze guzzling first day of the year bashes. Jan 01 was rung in wearing doctors and nurses outfits spraying soda from the drink dispensers on all the clientele while delicately slamming back the tequila shooters. 4 am I ate Haggis for the first time. The next day I decided to start a map illustration project for the Madrid-fountain-swimmer-dude a week before flying to ...
Victoria, Canada katemcnair... it then. I didn't realize how much it would effect me when I got back home. I'm going to be a little cautious about driving at home until I get used to our orientation again. I finally got to bed at my mom's in Everett around 5:00 AM. I pretty much slept the whole day of the 11th, only waking long enough to eat something with my mom and then falling back to sleep. I have never been so tired in my life.

Seattle, Washington, United States stevefn... the El Sarape restaurant where we enjoyed a huge Mexican seafood dinner. After dinner we had drinks at a nearby tavern. We walked about and explored the two streets that make up downtown. PortTownsend is one of the last seaports in the country to retain a Victorian flavor. In the 1880's schooners, barks, all craft carrying freight from the orient to the Pacific Northwest had to put in here to clear through customs. Maritime ...
