... our ship is docked so we walked a bit and were in the shopping/pedestrian district and we just meandered around for a few hours. I bought some shoes I wanted to buy before we left so that was nice. We had a little misty rain but nothing too bad. ... be more sporadic as we head down to Amsterdam. We arrived in Koblenz around 2...so everyone was able to make their tours to the Marksburg Castle and they did a Mosel wine tour. AL and went to town to do a little shopping. I am still dragging. I guess I'm just a complainer...wish I could go to sleep now!! But, we have the farewell dinner!! ugh. ... a bit disappointed with the place but we spot a car ferry and head across the Rhine to Rudesheim am Rhein. We love the look of this place, find somewhere to park and within a couple of minutes we are booked into Hotel Kromer. Drop our bags and hit the town, nothing to not like here, the architecture is proper German and the back streets are just a sprawl full of bars and resturants. We spend an hour or so getting fully re hydrated before retiring for today's siesta, ...

We spent several hours following our maps, up and down stairs, passageways that did or didn't link to the next building, exhibitions, it just kept on happening. The upper castle courtyard was massive, and large enough to be used as a parade ground for the governing troops.
