... to the idyllic villages on the Rhine, just like everywhere. Nebraska's shady side is under the radar and perhaps just less honest.

The days on the Mosel and the Rhine have been relaxing, slow paced and filled with hikes up the mountains and along the river shore. It was nice to enjoy a little slower pace of sleeping in, nice breakfast and finally getting on the road by...10:00!

Culture shocks and other perks of being back

... stayed 2 nights before coming to Cologne to see my brother. First big culture shock was on the street fest: so many people! So many different looking people, so terribly dressed, looking tired and sick, so white. I don't mean to be judging, don't get me wrong, that is how I felt, honestly. Even on the phone, with no hands, or carrying all of the shopping home. Lots of customised bikes too... Prams or carts on the front, bikes with two seats and one set of pedals... Fun to see - and there is no dawdling - it's GO or STOP. We had to be very alert at the road ...

Week 17 and still loving every moment!

... That was defiantly not what I was expecting. We got on the train laughing about the Korean man who was nearly in tears on the platform as his luggage had gotten a scuff mark from the hold up. This lady has made every day exciting. How many other people can say they have a nan like mine? I hope that number is rather small, many persons sanity can be saved. Finally home, I unpack and repack tomorrow I'm off to Zurich. The flu had full grip on me at this point. I was determined ...
