... for nothing and must start considering other options like bus or even better, sleeper buses which is not so bad if you can control your bowels and bladder for long periods of time. When, in the middle of the night on the ride from Pondicherry to Cochin, the driver stopped, turned the lights on and woke everyone up at the shout of "toiiiilets" in an accent that sounded with anything but, I jumped out of my upper bunk! put my shoes on in a hurry and went out only to find ...

That morning Rory decided he wanted to give surfing a go and get a lesson. Although the waves were good in Kovalam we decided that we would save it for Oz and just rent some body boards instead. After half an hour of full on effort Rory became tired and was nice enough to let us have a go. ... that we could hear over the sea anyway. Back at the guesthouse we heard a knock at the door not long after returning. It was the little man who runs it (and speaks no English) pointing out that it was raining, really heavily! We stood out on our balcony to witness the tropical rain and hoped it would clear the air a bit. It didn't. During the day we went and had breakfast on the seafront, and walked about a bit. As well as being muggy it was also overcast and very cloudy. We stopped ...
