... had something for all nationalities; bacon, eggs, pancakes, ham, cheese, fruit, toast and sweet pastries. We really like the Hotel Stendhal Mecure. The room was huge, as was the bathroom and very modern. The hotel itself was beautifully decorated. We got a very good price from booking.com. Parma is a charming small city, very walkable. It prides itself on being a cultural and food Mecca. That has certainly been our experience. Today we got a late start, still full from that fabulous meal last night, so stopped at a cafe for a coffee and sweet. Even my croissant was memorable...delicate, flakey and yummy. An awesome start. There is a music festival on this weekend, not unlike the Burlington Sound of music ...

... Only 9 tables about 30 people but not full. We started with. 2005 glass of champagne, accompanied by a small bite of Paremsan waffle. A small sampling of a gazpacho (a little sweet for my taste and the least impressive part of the meal) came next. First course was a specialty of the region -anolini I (little pastas stuffed with meat and served in a chicken/beef broth). Clearly hand made, tender and absolutely delicious.
