    Goodbye noisy polluted amazing New York, here I am, in a lovely town not far from Hudson where my Amtrak train arrived. My friend Phil came to pick me up, I will stay 4 nights with him and his family.

    So nice a place to live. lots of land, to Belgian standards, the house surrounded by lawns, a little pond in the corner, trees and a little wood and even a little brook!

    The house is beautiful, and a sign indicates the given name: "Linker Oever", ...

    ... the mast, get our sails on and set up the dinghy. I'd also like time to try to walk into town to take a look around. The current will be against us as of about 10:30am and there is no way we are ready to leave before then, so the favourable tide will start sometime after 3:30 pm, we'll have to check, but that might be enough time to get all done and find an anchorage not too far away.     ... back to beautiful river views. Our anchorage at Houghtaling Island was very pretty and we felt like we were in a jungle..... the birds were so loud and as the afternoon progressed the crickets took over.
