En met succes, het blijkt technisch mogelijk te zijn om binnen een dag te reageren op de mail van een deelnemer vanuit Nederland en ook inhoudelijk blijkt de methode van coachen via het internet goed aan te slaan! ... te crossen en familie en vrienden te bezoeken. En ja, het is geweldig om iedereen weer eens te zien, te voelen en eindeloos bij te praten!!!!!! Dat doen we dan ook tot in de kleine uurtjes! ... het eiland te zijn en hij houdt kantoor in een groot gebouw, dat is ingericht als een enorme souvenirwinkel. Er worden busladingen Amerikaanse toeristen afgezet (in twee betekenissen van het woord!) en in een kwartier door de tent heen gejaagd. Ze vliegen op de gratis rumpunch af en kibbelen (tot onze ontzetting) over wie er het eerst aan de beurt is! De eigenaar van de catamaran blijkt een bullebak van een vent te zijn. Wij hebben geluk dat hij aanwezig is, maar hij heeft ...

... Eén smsje later worden we al weer opgehaald voor, wat achteraf zal blijken, nog een weekje uit logeren! Bert is voor zijn werk de hele week op het buureiland Saba, dus we zijn met z'n drietjes. We gaan allemaal lekker onze gang. Gerdijanne doet vrijwilligerswerk voor Stenapa, de plaatselijke, zeer actieve organisatie voor natuurbehoud. Jeroen heeft zijn duikcursus weer opgepikt en Syl doet yoga op de veranda. We treffen elkaar meestal voor de lunch bij een leuk tentje in ...

Saba was like, the best place I've ever been, in my life. It's a volcanic island and we stayed at El Momo Cottages, which I would HIGHLY recommend. We walked up an old volcano in a rainforest, and met a bunch of interesting people at the cottage. Also, we walked around and picked up some black sand, then we mostly just hung out in the hammock with more Carib beer.

... do not need anything that could have a problem because taking care of things from the other side of the world can be difficult. Living on the island is not all bad. It's a Caribbean island and the temps are perfect (80's by day and 70's at night). The island is owned by two countries. The side we live on (Sint. Surviving the shortest runway in the world (after another visit to St Maartin as the Statia Saba flight was cancelled), we snorkelled (saw sharks and turtles), climbed to the top of Mount Scenery which was really muddy and walked down to town by torch light for a drink in the swinging doors pub.

Because of the long trip we arrive very late (15.00) to the island. We took a cab ($8 pp each way) to Maho beach, as I wanted to see the planes landing, but we just saw 1 and two small ones, had a swim and went back to the ship. The traffic was chaotic and took us about 35' to go there and 90' to come back. Otherwise the island seem worthy to spend much more time.
