When I planned this trip, this particular journey gave me all sorts of problems in finding anything, Civil War, Trail of Tears museums etc open on a Monday. They all seemed to be open Tues to Sat. So decided to just investigate Alabama and go cross country to Atllanta.

Oh, my word! What a glorious day after a cold, damp, dark one.The temperature today reached the mid seventies. It was perfect weather to be in a marina and take a long walk. The neighborhood around the marina is lovely. Most of the homes have kept their trees, making it seem as if one was in a state park. We got up fairly early and ate a leisurely breakfast before tackling Nickajack. The weather was excellent after the fog burned off and when the sun came out it was very pleasant indeed.
