Arrived yesterday in the pouring rain. Had spent the day doing general store with grist mill in Helen. Did a great hike to Ruby Falls. Went on to Clayton. Visited the Main St Gallery but the right Folk Art wasn't there - some cute birds and a gourd turkey - but not quite right. ... We were determined to get through Atlanta today and made it in time for rush hour. Going south did not present much of a problem but we did take advantage of the HOV lanes and were south by 5 pm.
We are starting to see buds in the trees and even the odd magnolia. Some of the red buds remind me of maples but I have not been close enough for a positive identification.
