What a great experience and wonderful trip. I left Northern Kentucky and headed to the Wichita Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma to visit my brother, who is a wildlife biologist there. Hi everyone We passed a teeny town called Earth, Texas and isn't it appropriate as we make our way back to Virginia. ... temp was 99! It's now 101 as I write this and the wind is blowing across this crazy odd landscape at high speed. Dinner, I think, will consist of leftovers.....it's too darn hot to cook! Hey, y'all,

I'm talkin' hot, hot, hot here in Vernon, Texas. A cool 101 degrees but thankfully a good breeze.

We had a great breakfast with Brenda, Stan, and Brenda's Aunt and Uncle at Denny's this morning. Then packed up the coaches and got on the road around 10:30.

... ourselves at the local park where you could rent footballs, mini golf clubs and play in the fountains. It was the place to be on a hot Sunday afternoon. After playing pass with some local kids, we ventured to the free art museum around the corner.
