Andersonville excursion

As my time in Columbus came to an end, I made a daylong excursion to the Civil War prison site at Andersonville, an hour to the east of Fort Benning. The prison site itself consisted of little more than an open field with scattered memorials and other prison key points such as Wirz's Headquarters and the famous Providence Spring, but the guided tour of the site was very informative ...

... while we talked to John. The 2 of us ate the whole pizza! And then, suddenly, it seemed, it was time to hit the road.

I'm writing this post as Jeff drives through north Florida (I drove from Simpsonville to Warner Robbins). We are listening to the East Village Opera Company LOUD on the car stereo (piped in from Jeff's iPhone).

Holy mackerel!!! A semi just cut us off - good reflexes on Jeff's part, but I'd better stop writing and "help" him drive!

... ie..batten down the hatches!! There was a lull until about midnight - then I proceeded through the night - in what best described as going through a continuous car wash!!...boy did it rain. I kept checking the outside ground to make sure there wasn't some creek rising up to get me!! Still rain this am...but warm again. Enough weather!!...boring-- but we do like to talk about it!!! Moving on - south into Florida today ...where to stay on this Christmas Eve??...somewhere dry I ...

And so, after the drive from Chattanooga, TN Ible and I made the short and traffic filled drive to Warner Robins, GA where we planned to stay with her parents for the next several weeks.
It has been a fun and relaxing time since we have arrived here. I have been learning many new things about this part of the country (mostly about food and how to prepare certain dishes. Ible's mother is a wonderful ...
