... tie and spit caterpillar flames up to his neck and down to his ankles. nope. the encapsulating flame would flare up in his hair and sizzle over his chest and bloom, flaming petals blowing head to ankles. seconds. i would have only seconds to nab the sight and react, hand on phone. dial dial dial. but i can reach him only for the aftermath and burning flesh are all i can foresee my help being useful for ...

Exploring Valley Forge

The ground memorialized at Valley Forge National Park is known mostly for the suffering that happened there one long, cold, snowy winter during the American Revolutionary War. The rehabilitation of the continental army's forces that followed that spring changed the course of the war and, oddly enough, restored the bedraggled soldiers. The establishment of the park was to set aside the land as a means of educating ...

A Delightful Delancey

... SHe once got locked in her own atick with no one home. She escaped by eventually climbing onto the garage rafters and jumping down on top of her car!

The most intriguing story she told was of meeting a woman whose name I can't remember - we'll call her June.

Margaret was on a plane into Newark and had a layover in Vancouver. June was at that layover and they found they were on the same flight ...

let the last minute panicking begin!!!!

... last month and a half since my bike was getting the S&S retrofit so i don't know how good of shape i am going to be in. It should be interesting! Steve and brett have been training for the last month so they are probably going to be in better shape than me even though they never really rode before!

Oh man, the excitement and the nerves are really starting to kick in. Its only 9 days till we fly into ...

August 30th My Trip Starts Again!!

I have a break in my trip until I leave for my two months of adventure on August 30th. A tiny detail called work is in the way this week but it gives me some time to plan the next leg of my trip after Central America. I start up again with a flight to Prague and then some exploration in the Balkans. The former Yugoslavia and all of the new countries that formed out of its wreckage interest me and I am curious to see how they have evolved since the ...

Day 2 - Wedding Day

... I stopped and just watched people get tore up, I did't want to feel like **** all day on Monday. I went up to bed around 10ish...and apparently the rest of the people who stayed got all loud and were having some sort of chair races around the lobby, lol...and Marc got it on video, so I can't wait to see that. Overall great time at the wedding. They both looked great, and they were very happy to have us up there to share in their special day, they are both great friends.

Titanic Revisited

... go with a different company that might cost a little more, but be less likely to cause death while on the trip! Ha ha. (I should probably mention that all passengers were safely evacuated and picked up by another cruise ship passing by). Crazy, huh? Aside from being in shock, I think I'm also in something of a state of denial. So that's it for now - I'll keep you posted.

New Jersey (Home)

Home is where the heart is, leaving was difficult for me. With such great friends and family its hard to take the first step on my long trip. Now that I am writing in retrospect its still hard to be away but so necessary at the same time. My summer was filled with surgery after surgery, 3 total made me the bionic man leaving to go to Australia. My goodbye party was amazing with what I thought were long lost friends showing up ...

My Philadelphia Checklist

... a stop at her shrine. It turned out that my visit there occurred the day after my stop at the Seton Shrine, thus giving me a wonderful opportunity to contrast the shrines of these two saints. The Drexel Shrine wasn't too hard to find. I just headed north out of Philadelphia on Highway 95. About 20 minutes after I left downtown Philadelphia, I reached the suburb of Bensalem. The shrine was easy to find once I left the freeway. I immediately noticed the ...

The Rust Belt In Living Color

... gave them a very natural appearance. They looked like they were part of the forest in which they were set.

We went inside the various buildings, like the Saron (Sister’s House), the Bake House, Conrad Beissel’s House, and the Physician’s House. I noted the strange features, like the doorframes being low so that followers would have to bow their heads in an act of humility before entering. But, the item that caught my attention was the lack of ...
