... 8217; Colorado River is just outside our doorstep and presents itself as a lovely "picture window".

Groceries and 22" wiper blades are on the shopping list for today. We head to town and search out the local Auto Zone, only to find 23" blades for the RV. Schulenburg is an amazing small town with one of the best dance halls in Texas. If you ever can go, make it out to Sengelmann Hall, the food is great, drinks are cold, and owners are wonderful. Whether it's your sweetheart, good friend, or family member, it's a great place to go ...

... be passed by 50 guys all out for cash winnings in the first lap. First lap was uneventful, and the course was well suited to me. It was, however VERY VERY dry. This makes for very loose and unstable corners and downhills. After descending gas pass to the bottom, I think I knew why Mule Trace was taken out of the race. Gas Pass had inches deep powder dirt/sand in ruts and corners. I haven't been nervous about that decent in over a year, but my self-preservation kicked in when ...
