    Ready for the Adventure!

It's hard to believe that we are leaving for Italy and Greece tomorrow! I am beyond excited for this trip and cannot wait for the adventure to begin. As excited as I am for the trip, I am not so excited about packing. For one who travels abroad frequently, you would think I would have no trouble packing; however I always procrastinate on packing. I have had things laid out for days, but ...

No pictures today. The remote to Go Pro died. The ride was generally nice. Started off cool in Ct. and I had to add a couple of layers. I rode 427 Miles today and stopped for lunch. Winchester VA begins the fun part of the ride. Skyline Drive to Roanoke Va. then I jump on I- 81 again to Wytheville VA. Trying Natty Greens English Style IPA from North Carolina. Not bad. More tomorrow and I promise I'll stop for pictures.

... hanging in the air above the space shuttle to show its size. Then you have to imagine just how big a 747 is. It was used to transport the space shuttle.

We spent 4 hours in the Museum. Not allowed to take in food but could buy from the McDonalds that is the only food outlet in the place. No food to go outside the "restaurant" doors and of course there were not nearly enough chairs for the number of people dining. However, ...

... the Blackberry shakes, a older thru-hiker came along, he hiked the trail back in 1974. He came up this way for a reunion of thru-hikers from his year. He told us a story about how his buddy was shot to death at the beginning of his thru-hike, and showed us a photo of himself, with two other thru-hikers......one of which was the one killed. Cool guy, great stories! After eating, and taking a "***** shower", we headed North - and was greated by a Ring-neck snake, which ...
