... had to work a little. The truck performed perfectly. This diesel can pull hard without as much as working up a sweat and the integrated exhaust brake and trailer brake controller working in tandem is really fantastic. There is no jerking when the brakes are applied, the engine just purrs at 1400 rpm @ 60 miles per hour and rather than averaging 7.5-8.0 mpg the truck averaged over 13 mpg- 62% increase in mileage-Sweeet!

... little warbler there…but summer camp love is never meant to last… still, I will think of her often.

Ahem. After Fruita we headed for Moab, and the bright lights and bitter music of civilization. We didn't really set up the inner moty-ho as we headed out each morning and by the time we came back we were too tired. After Moab we really went crazy in Provo – there was a Wal-Mart, Lowes, Costco, PetSmart, places they call ...

  • Watching the way the semi trucks' shadows erratically bounce and jump against the scrub brush on the side of the freeway... almost like they are somehow digital shadow programs gone awry.
  • Watching the sun set over the desert, gentle purple and rose colors on the mountains, as I drove into Winnemucca
  • Learning that when traveling with lots of stuff AND pets, you should ask for a first floor hotel room.
