Welcome to Kansas! I think this is my 16th stop so far, and will be brief one on the way to Denver tomorrow! We spent some "quality time" this evening at a Dillon food store - a chain which is owned by Kroger. Other than that, we didn't do a whole lot, as it was late afternoon before we arrived and got set up. All in all, not much to report!

... we have seen after the Atomic Bombs fell near the end of WWII. Today, it is still obvious that something terrible has happened. There are houses that are being built but there are very few trees (the big ones that we saw three years ago had had all of their leaves and bark stripped off leaving a ghostly outline of what used to be there) and no other vegetation and only scattered residences.
