... was built 859 as a fortress. It has the most amazing medieval terraces with an internal garden and the most beautiful room I have ever seen. The final destination was the town of Barolo, which also gives its name to the grape variety of the region. A brief tasting was followed by a walk through the narrow streets of this tiny hill top village

Giulio, the owner of the apartment we were staying in came to say goodbye and help us with the suitcases. Such a lovely guy who went out of his way to make sure that everything was ok.
He felt so embarrassed that the wifi and tv wasn't working- Phil fixed the tv and got a bottle of wine for his effort where as the wifi wasn't as easy. It eventually got fixed and Sue was happy about that.
