... Rome time (7:00 AM - USA time) to JFK in New York where we landed around 4:10 PM. (Italy is 6 hours ahead of us). We transferred planes and left JFK at 6:15 PM and headed home to Columbus, OH. Pottered about the little town of Pella near to where we are staying. Sat on wooden bench on quayside scoffing a gelato each like oldies do apparently. Delightful. Have now planned next step over the Simplon pass to stay in a small hotel in Chamonix, hoping to see Mont Blanc before the weather closes in. From there working our way back to the channel coast over 4-5 days. All fine and jalopy holding up so far - touch wood. Love to you all again. ...

now being quite skilled on the Milan Metro we headed to the Brera area and the Art Gallery where many famous artists are exhibited. Caravaggio,Rubens, Van Dyck, Rembrandt, Raphael and Bellini to name a few.

... t see Milan at all. We drove on super stratas and autostratas which h ave a toll and a speed limit of 130km/hour. We also drove along the lake "esplanade"for a bit too. At the hotel, we were lucky enough to get a room change so that we could go in there straight away. It's on the first floor and we have a reasonable view of the lake with a small balcony too.
