Another 6.45am wake up this morning but CJ and I got started early before the call so we had a bit more time to get down to Breakfast. A great nights sleep, we noticed the Germans get going earlier than the Dutch with plenty of traffic on the roads at 5.30am. It was another lovely breakfast and then on the bus and off to Heidelberg at 8.45am. …

Hi again - we're back! Had a bit of difficulty with the internet over the past few days but it looks like we're back!. So sorry about the length of the blog but we have covered quite a bit of ground (literally!) in the last few days.

We have now been to Venice which is built in a lagoon. There are 117 islands in the lagoon, and each has a different purpose like a park island, beach resort, rubbish, cemetery, glass (Murano), fishing (Burano), ancient monastery etc.

We went down a few times on each and even made a 4 toboggan chain. Thankfully there was a conveyor belt to take us back up to the top each time as we were all getting tired from walking in the snow.

We then headed back up the chair lift and into the shop area for lunch. We ...

... is incredible and really evokes emotion in a person who looks at it. It's very detailed and you actually feel sorry for the lion. We found some great gift shops which were filled with amazing Swiss clocks. Danny and I want one for the house! Some are so detailed and look amazing. The streets of lucerne are really lovely and there is left over snow on the sidewalks from a few days ago. There are mountains really close which feel very big and they look ...

... Schilthorn (2970 metres) was shrouded in clouds. We walked out on the terrasse, walked in the snow, then went up to the revolving restaurant to wait for the sun to poke through. I know it was decadent to drink a gluhwein at 11:30 am, but what else would you drink in Switzerland in the clouds? We shared a plate of meat and cheese and before we knew it we were shielding our eyes from the sun. We did not see a great many high peaks but it was just so nice to be out of ...
