    ... not often available and a veal schnitzel would cost around €50. Free time in the afternoon. Would have liked to have done the hop on, hop off S of M bus ride or the train up to the castle, or the Mozart Museum, but needed to go back to the Christmas shop we passed in the morning to get a nativity. Most of them were German made and when I asked if they had any Austrian scenes, the lady asked why I didn't like the German ones. Told her I had one from Germany ...

    It is privately owned with parts of the castle open to the public. We walked through the Gate Tower into a passageway that was no doubt built to protect the castle, into the Arcaded courtyard.
    The castle has three levels, the top two with a verandah decorated by deer antlers - heaps of them , but tastefully exhibited.

    Day 2 on our bikes. The ducks wake us up bright and early. We begin our ride stopping very quickly at an adorable Gasthof for a warm cup of kaffee while waiting for the ferry which didn't arrive! The sweet Austrian lady did try to tell us something... It must have been that the ferry is no longer running! So we continue on the left bank, hoping the terrain remains flat.
