(Erin this time.) Waking up in the Hotel Weisshorn is exactly like waking up in a cloud: whole villages and even birds were below us. Just as with dinner, we breakfasted in the dining room in the sky (sliced meats and assorted cheeses, yogurt and museli, breads with jam or Nutella). Although we could see no Alps for the rain clouds, still the view was all green hillside and rocky cliff, lovely and green the way Idaho is for maybe 6 weeks out of the year. We set out on our ...

... amazing, the highlight of course was the parmesan foam, which although we were sceptical really did taste like parmesan cheese.

Almost on queue as we arrived back at the hostel after our amazing meal the rain began pelting down and did not stop for most of the night. ... car up but saw absolutely nothing as we were in cloud. We had a coffee in the 007 restaurant and waited and waited but the cloud didn't lift. We returned to MURREN and walked down to Grimmelwald and then down to Schenkle... It ended up a Nordic trail and was quite steep. Beautiful views and a path that meandered through the pastures. Lots of cows with cowbells and lovely meadow flowers. Water rushing down the ...

    Road trip Alps

We awoke to the sound of cows mooing. It was feeding time in the farm across the street. Our tent was chilly and dew drops had formed on the outside. I grabbed my jacket and stepped out of the tent heading down the hillside to the restroom area. Other happy campers greeted me as they broke down their tents - I thought I was up early... Back at the tent we set up for breakfast. Rolls, juice and yogurt were all perfectly chilled after being left outside for the night. Ready ...
