(Erin this time.) Waking up in the Hotel Weisshorn is exactly like waking up in a cloud: whole villages and even birds were below us. Just as with dinner, we breakfasted in the dining room in the sky (sliced meats and assorted cheeses, yogurt and museli, breads with jam or Nutella). Although we could see no Alps for the rain clouds, still the view was all green hillside and rocky cliff, lovely and green the way Idaho is for maybe 6 weeks out of the year. We set out on our ...

... walked in and the kids kicked their legs in the air and after a while settled down to eat the lush green grass. Every so often the young foals (mainly stallions) bolted around bucking; it looked like they were having a ball out in the sunshine. After waking up to an amazing view of the Matterhorn with the moon beside it we had breakfast in our hotel - freshly made croissants, cheeses, meats, bread and homemade jams. We took three trains from Zermatt to Visp to Spiez to Interlaken. The Swiss train system is so efficient and well organised that the changeovers were easy.

We arrived in Interlaken at 11am and checked straight into our hotel on the river, right ...

We awoke to the sound of cows mooing. It was feeding time in the farm across the street. Our tent was chilly and dew drops had formed on the outside. I grabbed my jacket and stepped out of the tent heading down the hillside to the restroom area. Other happy campers greeted me as they broke down their tents - I thought I was up early... Back at the tent we set up for breakfast. Rolls, juice and yogurt were all perfectly chilled after being left outside for the night. Ready ...

    Night in Interlaken

We have finally arrived at Interlaken at 9pm and **** me what a day. Totally lost my head about losing my phone in Voules Train Station toilet/shower room (if you call a sink an baby wipes a shower). Turns out the phone was just in the pocket of my side of the van and didn't stop me raising BP to dangerous levels and insulting the French repeatedly. Soon after we hit the Swiss border. Still no passport checks. Good really as it would only lead to me unleashing some sort of ...
