We left Pucon in a downpour and by the time we caught the bus for Santiago, we were drenched. However, we pulled off our wet jeans, cuddled down and were very soon fast asleep. It is a very civilised way of travelling.

We had a lovely couple of days back with John and Mitzie in Santiago and were sad to leave them on Friday afternoon when our exchangers from Vina del Mar arrived to collect us and drive us to our new 'home'.

... on tip. The guy in the reception gave us directions and told us how to do. We ventured off to find the metro station. Took the metro to Parajitos, where the buses were suppose to leave for Valparaíso. Luckily the first bus we see, has a sign saying just that. The following day, Sean went for run on beach, while Alexa stayed in the warm bed as it was a cold morning. Nico took us down to Punta de Lobos to check the surf, which was apparently huge. It turned out that it wasn't too big so we returned to the hostel to get boards and wetsuit, before catching a lift with Nico's mate Rodrigo from next door. ... with a passion for history! He taught us many facts about Valparaiso and it's naval and immigrant history. We rode on a few trolley buses and ascensores during the tour and ended with a Pisco Sour.

The next day we rested in the morning and walked up the street to Pablo Neruda's Valparaiso house / museum. We took a wonderful audio tour of the house and learned so much about his life and poetry. Of course I bought one of his ...

Wow, it'd be very hard to cover everything here but fortunately, I did pretty well at taking photos of what I ate. Rather than talking about every dish, it'd be easiest to browse the photos and imagine how nice they were.

It's hard to pick out my favorites since they were all pretty good. If I had to pick the top three though, I would say:
1. Reineta in lemon sauce with mashed potatoes (or puré)
2. Centolla (king crab) in white ...
