... a bit more of the city than last time. We arrived at the bus station at 10.30 and headed to a craft market at Santa Lucia where they had lots of copper and lapis lazuli jewellery before we headed past the theatre where you could peek in to watch a ballet rehearsal then onto the cafe colon for coffee and cake. Day 6 was an absolutely massive day for us. We woke up early to go have breakfast and head down to the plaza for a walking tour. As we were eating the standard hostel breakfast, we began speaking to an English girl and guy staying there as well, they didn't know each other but they were staying in the same dorm and were both planning to do the walking tour as well. We decided to join together and all 4 of us headed out down the narrow cobble stone passageways and steps to the plaza. ...

... a second dog whom we nicknamed ‘Kamikaze’ because of his frequent dashes onto the busy road in front of speeding vehicles . Not wanting to witness his death, we quickly implemented some tricky manoeuvres and successfully managed to lose both dogs.

Picturesque and quaint as Valpo was, we had a couple of teething problems... Jacks food poisoning plus the worry that you could very easily walk up the wrong Cerro and find yourself in trouble (as happened to a boy in our hostel, mugged at knifepoint...) we decided to escape to the relative calm and sterileness of Vina del Mar.
