We left Pucon in a downpour and by the time we caught the bus for Santiago, we were drenched. However, we pulled off our wet jeans, cuddled down and were very soon fast asleep. It is a very civilised way of travelling.

We had a lovely couple of days back with John and Mitzie in Santiago and were sad to leave them on Friday afternoon when our exchangers from Vina del Mar arrived to collect us and drive us to our new 'home'.

... where we took the only vertical ascensor up to Cerro Polanco. Ben spent the morning taking photos of fantastic murals and street art from the 2012 Graffiti Festival whilst I was on the look out for potential muggers. It was not a very safe place but we survived and made our way back to the ever so posh B&B. I think Ben would have preferred to stay on the streets as his beard was still causing a stir from hotel staff and guests alike!

Wow, it'd be very hard to cover everything here but fortunately, I did pretty well at taking photos of what I ate. Rather than talking about every dish, it'd be easiest to browse the photos and imagine how nice they were.

It's hard to pick out my favorites since they were all pretty good. If I had to pick the top three though, I would say:
1. Reineta in lemon sauce with mashed potatoes (or puré)
2. Centolla (king crab) in white ...
