Beautiful sunny HOT day. Walked along the village street after a huge brekkie, and then took small motor boat out on the lake, looking at the campers from the outside today! Looked inside the beautifully decorated village church. My good friend Anni and her husband Michael arrived from Munich. Anni and I had been pen-friends since we were about 12, and Anni and I had visited many times in Germany and UK, although Anni has never made ...

... as we were nearing the outskirts of Salzburg, the satnav was coming up with a dubious instruction, so after buying a map at a service area, we opted to follow the route recommended for towing as given by Michelin. This was to take us further up the motorway, briefly into Germany, then due south for the final approach to Camping Grubhof, just outside the small town of Lofer. I had spoken with the site owner (excellent English) the previous day to check that ...

... for every menu item, plus a wide variety of food from pizza through to goulash. Their pizza menu even had an icon for every pizza ingredient, so that non-German non-English speakers knew what was on each pizza - very clever. I had pork steak with a pepper sauce and rice, and Jess had a grilled turkey salad. It was very tasty, and we were both stuffed after our meal. That didn't stop us from ordering dessert, of course, I had a curd strudel and Jess had ...
