Wir sind heute gleich morgens Richtung Tofino aufgebrochen. Nach einer 4-stuendigen Fahrt und wunderschoener Aussicht (viele Seen, schoene Waelder und Parks, Weisskopfseeadler,...) kamen wir endlich in Tofino an. Im Hotel haben wir uns schnell umgezogen und sind an den (fuer Tofino) bekannten "Long Beach" gefahren. Einige Mutige waren sogar am surfen.
Anschliessend haben wir den kleinen Ort erkundigt und sind dann am Abend in ein (bzw das einzige) Pub gegangen.

Despite my supposed surfing ability - due to my nationaliy, not any previous experience - there was many a time where I would catch a wave, attempt to look cool and stand up, forget that I was wearing boots, have them catch on the board, and then proceed to faceplant into the water. ... joie. On est encore en bord de falaise, et je ne m’en lasse pas.


Mon idée est fixe, alors je ne m'arrête pas ... et puis j'arrive du côté ouest de l'île, mais l'océan se fait désirer. La route est un peu éloignée de la plage, mais à quelques km de Tofino, je commence à entendre les vagues et à apercevoir les reflets de l'eau au travers des arbres.


Un panneau indique des prix pour un hôtel pas cher, alors je retarde mon arrivée sur ...

... to the other side of the camp, good, as we can now bungee cord off the lower side to the table and hopefully relieve some pressure on the front of the tarp. Worried for a day with an actual strong wind though. So, a little late we head off to see if Steve has remembered us, we were about 13minutes late, so not sure if he did or not, but after about 20minutes of waiting we carry on with our day. No free surf lessons today. ...

... but it was a fab place had so much fun. We hired a full wetsuit, gloves, booties and balaclava (promise photos to follow, no time) Beth, Pete, Ben and I all had a go and got beat up by the waves but I think Pete was the champion, only tried it once before but he caught some of the best waves! All in all we had fun, fireball drinking session followed by hottub in the rain!!! thanks beth it was amazing..............
