Too much to see in too little time.
... was broken up by lively entertainment and by columns of riot police marching by in full gear! Evidently, May 8 is the anniversary of Victory in Europe (V-E day) at the end of World War II, and the police were out in full force to ensure the peace. We had to turn around once and take an alternate route back to the hotel. We were never really in any danger, but it had the feel of an adventure.

... The platz was beautiful as well, with a fountain the centre and people resting everywhere just like at Burggarten. There was also a music group practising there, we thought they looked like gypsies (and probably are), which gave a nice flair to the atmosphere. I can't imagine how these people get to enjoy such a chill way of life everyday! They are too fortunate. We also passed an Asian artist selling watercolors by the church entrance and he spoke to us in Chinese, but ...
