This drive was through a lot of tunnels through mountains , one of them was 11kms long, during this time Bern took the time to explain all our optional extras. Our lunch stop was at an enormous service centre. There were loads of trucks parked there because in Europe, truckies are not allowed to be on the road between 10:00pm Saturday night and 10:00pm Sunday night. So they ...

... and waterfalls along the way. On to Innsbruck where two Olympics were held. You can see the ski jump which the locals call Star Ship Enterprise. The pastries in the windows of the shops are incredible. I'd like to hire an Austrian pastry chef and open a business lol. No Twinkie's here! The city itself is picturesque but nothing of any special historical or photo value. It is also very clean, and it is obvious the locals take great pride in there ...

... It's quite an amazing place to visit. We were driven up by bus first then transferred to smaller transit coaches up the mountains where you walked through the original tunnel and then you took the original lift which is all brass up to the top where his house was. Even though they have converted the house into restaurants etc you can still visualise what it would of been like back in the 1940's. After visiting the nest we were off again ...

... have to admit, that even for a bloke, it is an amazing place! Absolutely everything in the place sparkles, from the stairs, to the tables, to the toilets..... So we spent a while there as Treas sampled everything, and bought virtually nothing, and then did a general wander around the old town which has a quite a nice feel to it, and parts date back to the 1500s. Will post this now while I still have good wifi, and try to come back to it ...

This morning we drove to Austria. We started the day with White water rafting in the Inn river in Innsbrook. The water was freezing but we had wet suits and it it was worth it. Amazing views. We had some of the local cuisine: goulash soup and schnitzel. They speak German. Off to ...
