... it is covered with a chocolate ganache- it was delicious, much better than the day before.
The afternoon was Greg’s choice and we went to the Bergisel Stadium which is the new ski jump facility which was opened in 2001. This was on the site of the original ski jump facility which was used for the Winter Olympics in 1964 and 1976. You went in a cable car, then a lift to the top ...
... you couldn’t be convicted unless you had confessed to the crime, so consequently torture was frequently used. There was a slide show with a description of Maximilian’s life and achievements. As was the custom of those times, his first marriage was one of political convenience but they also loved each other very much. He was devastated when she died, but again married for convenience, this time to a woman who had a large dowry ...
Innsbruck, Austrian Alps, Austria kiama_on_tourWalked to the train station and did an expedition to the supermarket to spend our last Swiss Francs as we are back to Euros in Austria. Had a stopover in Zurich for a while and then caught the train to Innsbruck. Again this was a scenic trip over the mountains and it started snowing and was very deep as we got higher- just beautiful scenery. Innsbruck is surrounded by mountains, all of which had snow on them.
We checked into our hotel where we ...
... every corner. Most everything was closed on Sunday, so I decided to trek it up the hill to the Alpenzoo. It's the highest zoo in Europe, and I believe it because I kept walking, up and up and up. It was a beautiful Fall day, and most of the animals were out of their homes.
After the zoo I did a little laundry and went for a jog for the first time in a month. There is a great ...
... struggled to find us, it looked like we were doing circles, travelling in rivers and going 902km at our "highest" speed...funny, felt more like 50km/hr..anyways.our GPS caught up to us when we were out of the ravines and on the tops of the mountains was the best.
We headed back to Mittersill and did the Gerlos pass..and 8.50 Euro toll at some stage and $12.50 for the pass..the tolls were starting to ...
... br>Oktoberfest.
All in all I was very impressed with
Innsbruck and the Austrians. Everyone I met was very nice and wiling to help me
if they were able to understand English.
Not only do the women love the outdoors and adventures as much as the
men, the majority of them are very attractive. At one point I saw a woman
downhill mountain biking and get about 10 feet of air off a jump. I must say a
pretty impressive feat!
... these beautiful mountain valleys. I guess we were at the base of the Alps. We arrived in Innsbruck and stayed at a 5 star campsite….sounds silly I know but wow this place was top notch! Their bathroom facilities were nicer then some 5 star hotels! Camping in Europe is very different then camping in Canada. Its more like a large open area is chopped out of a wooded area and all the tents and campers park in ...
Innsbruck, Austrian Alps, Austria ktchris... packed in tightly on either side of the narrow pedestrian street. My mom was sucked right in. I don't know how long it took for us to walk the length of this short street, but it was several minutes too long.
We never did visit the cathedral. Our stomachs took over and we went for food instead. We found a nice pizza place with good prices so we went in. Everything seemed OK until my boyfriend asked for a new set of cutlery because when we first sat on our table it had ...
We traveled for a day trip to Innsbruck. The train trip itself is beautiful as you a high in the mountains and then come into the small town of Innsbruck which is along the Inn River. Innsbruck hosted the winter Olympics back in 1964 and 1976. If you were to go where the ski jump stadium is and climb up there you would see that the ski jumper would notice a cemetery at the bottom of the hill. Something to think about as you are flying thru the air.
Innsbruck, Austria dwdswtSadly, I dont remember much about Austria. Too bad because I have read so much about it lately as the music and art centre of Europe in the 1700s, I'd love to check that out.
I asked my dad recently if we had been there before. He said, 'oh yes, many times, we loved it'. Hmm, what a pity. I suppose it still counts because the images of scenery must be in my mind somewhere... curse this short memory of mine!
