... canal the longest man made canal in the world, (1900km), hand dug by millions of people through forced labour some 15 hundred years ago it stretches all the way to Beijing.

At the end of the boat trip we walked over one of the many narrow bridges and then a long walk through the congested vibrant market. Lots of fresh food, really fresh, still alive.

We went back to Casa Zoe's for breakfast after moving from the Kempinski Hotel back to the Gran Park Hotel for work tomorrow. We then went to visit the Nanshan Temple, and walked around a market area, a bit like Confucius Temple area in Nanjing with small shops and stalls.

We then took a lovely boat trip down the Grand Canal (which we have been on in Hangzhou also), stopping off at a hand-made brick museum. Another lovely day.

... Xiangfu Temple; Ancient Gingko Square; the Grand Buddha; Brahma Palace (also called the Valican Palace); Flying Dragon Tower and the Five Mudra Mandala.

We got back to the Nine Dragons Bathing Sakyamuni at 2.45 to watch the water ceremony where water sprouts out of the dragons mouths and the lotus leaf at the top opens to display a small Buddha who turns a complete circle. Fabulous! It was an amazing ...

... specialised ice creams, each incredibly individual. I choose a fruit loop flavour, flashing back to the days of my childhood and it was so good. They cones designs were really pretty, in the front of the shop they had a display of all the different cones they had ever had. By this point it was about 4:30pm and we were only about down the road so we kicked into gear and kept going stopping every so often to take a few pictures and look into shops.
