Today we drove to Egging which is in the heart of Bavaria, the weather now is very and sunny. We arrived around lunch time and opted for a nice lazy afternoon reading and relaxing. ... had charcuterie German style, seared sausage, bread like kasler chop, smoked meats and I had a pork goulash, with spaetzel, and chunky apple sauce, really delicious! I have been happy with the food thus far, servings not too humongous! Certainly can't go desserts though! We spent the day with the tour group viewing the Cathedral in Trier, the marketplatz and then the Porta Nigre. Trier has a very interesting history. It was founded by the Roman's in 17 B.C., Was held by the Roman's until the 5th century and then the Germanic Tribes ruled the area until the late Middle Ages.
