Today it was time to leave our tiny room in Germany and drive over to Austria. We decided to break up the drive and stop half way at Neuschwanstein Castle, which I really wanted to see anyway. It should have left us with plenty of time to get to Austria for check in at 4pm. We set off at around 10am after a delicious buffet breakfast and made it to the castle by about 1pm. As I exit the tunnel its like a total different world outside. its blue
skies and the temp is way up at 18 Celsius.
From here the road made its way down into a massive valley and once again
passed through a number of small towns.
      As i said earlier ...

... so intricate and were hidden in some of the designs in the rooms. These rooms were very detailed- in the King's bedroom, some of the woodworking alone took 3 years to finish just in that room! It was a short tour, but we were able to spend as much time as we liked outside and in the shops, which was in an unfinished part of the castle. It was all so interesting to be able to see both the finished and unfinished part of the castle! I liked that we were able to see both ...
