It was torn down in 1989 and left one whole generation of people who had been separated for 28 years all that is left is a line of bricks on the ground where the wall used to be. The following day, I sat by a man from California on the train. We were discussing Berlin and some of the sights we had seen. And just walked, I went past an awesome set up where a heap of people were practicing their parkour, saw a few rally nice airy and open parks that were just made for napping and then made it to some of the big tourist buildings before heading home via Checkpoint Charlie. ... in and land himself a good, full time, well paying job back home. Over here it is impossible for him to find work by himself, with no language skills and no tools. He is a bit down about it. He did visit about 20 workshops in 2 days so I can understand why. But all is not lost, plan B is to approach hostels in Berlin with the hope of landing him a maintenance or cleaning job.
