    ... the fish of the day with salad (do you want fetta with that?) and toasted Turkish bread. We decide to go the lot and wash it down with a Turkish beer and German wine. Although very rustic, the food is very good and it is just what we need after a couple of weeks of over indulging. Walking back to the hotel we encounter a demonstration involving two groups that are being kept separated by a heavy contingent of police. Apparently this is the norm for Berlin ...

    ... on the bed after a wonderful day and Paul went off to get some beautiful German bread and some fruit. What next happen I was unaware of until much later. As Paul stepped out of our apartment block onto the street below he was hit on his left side by a person traveling extremely fast on a push bike. The crash knocked Paul to the ground and he ended up on the pavement. Unsure how the cyclist faired and don't much care either!!!!!! Paul received ...

    ... getting away from the central part of the city is that the tourist numbers decrease as do the prices for many things. This morning….strudel - strawberry this time…2 for 1 euro! Nice. How do I say no to that?? Haha.

    The Citadel Fortress had good signage to get to which was fantastic. Another 153 steps took me to the top of the Julius Tower - yes, I counted. To me, this area of town was typically more German as it had an Old Town feel, unlike the sprawling city ...

    ... some restaurants and bars so we were well out of luck. Having given up on that Aster and I headed to lunch at a place out drive and tour leader had raved about called Burgermeister. Usually there's a huge line but we walked straight up to the counter very pleased with ourselves. The burgers totally delivered on all promises made by Dave and Eoin!! Berlin has always had the philosophy of getting international artists to come do art here that has no direct meaning but requires effort from the person looking at it for interpretation. We stood where the door to Hitlers bunker would have been. There is no memorial or plaques or anything there.
