4. Pack
Check the climate, geography and topography (and religion!) of the region you're going to!
Always pack a raincoat, hiking boots, a hat, earplugs (!!!) and mosquito repellent. You never know where you're going to end up.

... t find his place on the train so he moved all his stuff out of the corridor and onto a bed then sat and talked our ears off for ages until the train man finally came back and told him where he needed to be. He was speaking to him in German but the train man didn't want to hear anything of what he was saying and got angry at him.. So he finally left! Woohoo. We finally got our bedding, got dressed for bed and settled in for the night..
