    ... flats that everybody lived in, items from that era, a video on the housing boom- truly fascinating stuff. The Germans in this time and place had enough money to buy things- just not enough things to buy! I had never even considered that to be an option of an economical issue. Finally, at the end of the exhibit, there was a digital "Berlin Wall" that you could spray paint on with these digital sensor spray paint cans that were suspended from the ceiling. Pretty neat stuff.     ... t work and I couldn't cancel a pending request for the same time period so I was beginning to panic. It turns out you can only cancel a request on the website and I solved the card issue with paypal.

    The front door, out the back of the the building. Pretty ordinary looking so far.

    ... Walking past the government complex we came to the Brandenburg Gate, symbol of Berlin for those of us who were born and raised during the cold war. I can remember being a kid and watching tapes of JFK's speech in front of it..."Eich bin ein Berliner". The whole boulevard leading up the gate has undergone a reconstruction since the fall of the wall in 1989-90.

    We made dinner down in the community kitchen and this one guest would not leave us alone. We made a soup and he felt the need to show us that there was a ladle the in the drawer... 1) We were not at the ladle usage stage and 2) We can figure that out, thanks.
