Isn’t it a strange quirk of fate that in Austria, the place that is probably one of the safest on our journey (“good and clean and fresh, tra la la!” comes to mind when I picture it), is the spot where we experienced our first major oops?

... the 1960's when the Catholic Church approved the practice of cremation. So I assume you rest for 12 peaceful years in the cemetery and then are cremated to make room for the recently deceased. We saw a fresh grave there where a lady had just been buried a week or so earlier.
Hallstatt was very memorable, and we enjoyed our train ride back to Vienna on Sunday afternoon. Austria is truly a beautiful country.

Just in time we purchase return ferry tickets to St Wolfgang down the lake - €30 for two. It was wonderful sitting in the sunshine on deck as we stopped at various points en route, Somewhat reminiscent of the Geneva lake circular trip. Better yet a beer ...
