Sorry I did not update about the 14th yesterday.... here we go! On Monday, Megan and I went off to the Berlin Zoo! We were supposed to actually go there with Charlie, but he had a bike tour that he went on that day, and it ended up lasting way longer than he thought it would be, so we never ended up meeting up with him... but oh my god. ... four very long classes. For no charge they let me eat in the cafeteria. The cafeteria was much smaller than the one at Lane. After the school day was over I visited the Berlin river. and from the river I had Dinner. Today I went back to Margaux because it was so good and I was afraid that I would never eat there again. ... dagy dancing and more drinking. I managed to leave around 3am and enjoyed the best kebab that I have ever tasted and I'm not just saying that cause I was drunk, it was the bomb. If for no other reason you have to come to Berlin just to try this kebab. Probably saved me from a very serious hangover the next day. On the bus for 4 hours though so some sleep can be enjoyed then.

A short distance from Berlin is the resort town of Potsdam. It's shopping area is dominated by Dutch buildings, reflective of the facades on Amsterdam's canals. The antique shops, high-end design stores, clothing and gift shops aren't much different than what one finds in Charlevoix or Harbor Springs or other high-end resort towns. The surrounding villas that line the Wannsee aren't much different than those that line resorts worldwide ...

... planning. Most places are closed Sunday and nothing is open 24 hours unless you are in a major city. Arrived in Ribeauville after traveling thru two small Hansel/Gretyl-like villages. Amazing amount of vineyards every where you turn. Grapes in bloom- red white and purple. Our base is a beautiful home at the back of the village looking at a huge,hilled vineyard and 3 castles. Ahhhhhh--- this is true paradise.
