    ... there in Maribor, doesn't help we forgot our guide book either. The most entertaining bit was arriving in Ljubljana Airport and picking up the hire car for my first driving on the right hand side of the road experience (have previously driven in NZ but they are the same as side as the UK).

    ... us being weird). We also put one on for lees oma & grandad. The hotel room was massive!! It has 2 double beds, a single bed and a large desk in the room and there is still room to have a party! We're about 10 mins walk into town past about 20 shoe shops. Austrians must like a good shoe?! Italia bound tomorrow and fingers crossed the weather will stay sunny ...

    ... kept asking about how we would review the accommodation on Tripadvisor - so, we have left our review there. Five stars, and a "Highly recommend" - though if the plum juice stain doesn't come out of my best T-shirt, we might downgrade to four stars!

    On Saturday we went for another beautiful morning walk in the country before being picked up by my brother-in-law to go to Maribor. It was a very pretty and slightly sketchy drive on fairly narrow Slovenian roads but we got there in one piece. We walked to the town square and checked out a really neat market with local vendors selling their art, food and clothing etc. Maribor is filled with old buildings that have many stories to tell, and I had great fun exploring ...

    On Wednesday we slept in until 2:30 (in all we slept 16 hours!)...jet lag strikes again. We took a look around our hotel and checked out some of the mineral pools before lounging in the lobby and soaking up some of their wifi! My sister and niece came by for an afternoon visit as we were too exhausted to venture anywhere that day. We gave my niece some presents (new boots and a raincoat) which she excitedly put on and wore around the hotel. ...
