      ... no I was brought out not one but 2 large schnitzels and a Rosti the size of briony’s underneath it for good measure! The eating frenzy was on and as we didn’t really have lunch that day it was a close and tight finish. In the end the food won and we had to take some back to the room with us for breakfast leftovers (which was ace that they actually did give you containers for it.

      We stalked up to our bedroom and opened a bottle of wine we had purchased ...

      ... I went. The water was absolutely "herrlich!"

      Some words in one language do not translate well into others. "Herrlich" is one of them. It is a word in Swiss German that translates into 23 adjectives in the english language - one of which is "splendiferous"!

      To note also - if you screech it loud enough, heerrrrrrlich! also sounds somewhat close to "eeeecchhhhaaaah"" which in any language translates into "damn this water is ...

      ... steps and people using umbrellas. At one point the water spilling down the stairs was a mini waterfall in itself. Even with our rain jackets and hoods, and at times my umbrella to protect the cameras, there was no way we were coming out of this with dry pants. We had been warned about this in the reviews, so we had packed dry pants in our backpack. The waterproofness of the backpack was a worry though.       ... dinner and then find somewhere to eat lunch on our way to Interlaken.

      Ro very successfully found us a park, and a supermarket and we managed our first shopping experience. We did annoy the lady at the checkout as we didn’t weigh and label our fruit and veg as we had no idea we had to this.
