Just before we arrived the skied cleared, the sun shone and it was wonderfully warm. From the station we rode 1.5km to our campsite, arriving just before 2pm - down the steep hills that we will have to climb in the morning to get back onto the path! ... 5pm we decided to do a bit of sightseeing. Syd suggested that wd go to the Festspielhaus first as it was "just past the bahnhof". In fact it took 30mins each way as part of the of the map we had used had elided part of the road. By the time we had got back to the Altstadt Val was feeling the heat and returned to our room whilst Syd went on to take some pictures in the Altstadt. When we check the weather later we found out that the temperature had maxed at 32 ...

... four floors that described all sorts of crime, how locals we tried and then punished. Perhaps this should’ve been called HELL!!! It was fascinating and a bit morbid, but it made us all the more grateful for our present day system of justice, no matter how flawed it may sometimes be! Tomorrow we head to Munchen! Dresden to Bayreuth by train (2km) - Day 22

... to take the earlier local agilis train from here as it terminated in Bayreuth even though it took longer and stopped more often than the regional train which passed through Bayreuth (more time to get off the train). We pushed the bikes easily straight off the train and eventually found the ramp to get to the street (stairs are not good with loaded bikes!). The day was hot and sunny (28degrees!).
