    ... days, I found little to enjoy. The reason was the weather – grey, wet, windy, cold, downright miserable. To a lesser extent the terrain was pretty boring, but I had known that beforehand … but the combination of the generally flat, featureless terrain and the poor weather meant that I found little of interest to see for days at a time and was simply putting my head down and pushing on the pedals.     ... that the heavy duty sump guard had also sheared a bracket during the last day – hence the inordinate amount of rattling from underneath the bike. I had thought it was just a loose bolt, but the bracket took offence to the loose bolt and fractured. The other side had fractured just before I took over the bike but Andy Worth’s welding of that bracket a while ago had survived all the hits and jolts of the trip with ease.

    Samsung travel DVD writer, as the netbook doesn’t have one, and for loading software. Only 25 or so..

    6 spare DVDs in wallet, 6 or so USB sticks.
    USB cable for DVD writer
    2 chargers – mains and 12V for netbook.

    Netbook is loaded with all camera and GPS manuals, full Ural repair / owners manuals / part list spreadsheet. Skype / photographic software.
