Trying not to drool over the delicious looking cakes, cheescakes and slices, crossed the road to Berggarten, the botannical gardens. Berggarten began life as a vegetable garden, became a mulberry plantation for silk worms (didn't prosper) before, under the direction of Sophia, becomming a botannical garden.

Around 90% of Hannover were destroyed during WW2 and when I saw some of
the old houses that remained untouched it really broke my heart as I
could only imagine how pretty this city must have once been.
