We were planning to go to Liechtenstein but thought we may as well as it was sort of on our way. It's the worlds 6 smallest country so it would have been rude not to go..haha.
We didn't drive to the main town but to another.. where really there wasn't anything. I did get a photo with the tourist sign though. Had to somehow prove I'd been there!
... quick sites and then jumped back to Switzerland, crossed through Austria for an hour or so, and bam, were back in Germany, hehe....
Now I'm at Sebastian's brother's house, where we will go to sleep soon and visit München tomorrow...
abrazos!
... main city) and the surrounding area, and then walked around the town.
The next day we went into St Gallen with Elsa. We walked around the old city, and visited their beautiful church and main shopping centres. In the eve Heinz cooked my favorite dinner ever – Roesti!! And we watched 'Inspector Rex'.
On Friday Elsa took us to a mountain up a gondola, and we went for a walk. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t the best – very ...
... when Lean Green decided he needed some attention, too. So with 3 heads under its bonnet, it was decided to sacrifice the thermometer, which might help with the overheating problem. James whipped it out in no time, and after a check and a top up of the water level, down went the bonnet, and we were ready to move on.
Kieran was now getting calls from the Sylkis (his mum & dad) to say that the Range Ravers were also having problems - namely their U/Js were ...
Our third stop of the day was our first in Austria. Now I was entering undiscovered lands! Feldkirch is right on the Switzerland border. The old town centre is surrounded by towers, and a castle sits on a hill above.
We explored Feldkirch and a few of its towers. The old town is quite charming with its colorful buildings, trickling fountains, and small shops. When we tried to ...
... can't take photos in the library and I can describe in words the beauty of the library sufficiently. Let's just say if you have the chance, go take a look.
It was time for food so we found a little cafe and had a bite to eat before tracking down my parents again. They were hungry because they had been waiting for us before they ate (oops!) so we returned to the same cafe and they had a quick meal before we returned to the car. Next stop: Austria!
... we landed in Frankfurt around 10:00 am and I found my way to immigration, customs and then to the bus to Terminal 1 and the train station. Frankfurt-Lindau May 16, 2009 I got a train ticket to Lindau and got to the track just as the train was coming in. I found a seat and then sat back to start the 4 hour trip to Lindau, an island city on Lake Constance. I was on the fast ICE German train and my GPS ...
Lindau, Germany nedk... how tidy and clean everything is here - the water in the lake is sparkling clear. I also noticed a small brook running through the village does not have one piece of rubbish - not even a bottle cap. There are no bottles, cans or empty plastic bags which we are used to in Australia, which is almost unnatural.
Hard, Austria evasoloToday we drove to Lindau, Germany, and did our own walking tour. Lindau is an island in the eastern part of Lake Constance. It was quite overcast, but still lovely. I'm sure that on a warm summer day it would be filled with people sitting in the sun and enjoying all the open air cafes.
Then we were off around the lake ...
... gorgeous and the views of it and from it are breathtaking.
After our tour we drove to Kempten and stayed at the Peterhof downtown. This was our first room with a tv...all German stations, of course!
