I really enjoyed this hotel, the view of the mountains was beautiful and the reception desk was really friendly and helpful. It is located on the main road and close to the hot pools and some amazing restaurants.

Breakfast 7.30 am We leave at 8.30 and head for Arrowtown, a real Wild West looking place. It is unfortunately raining and chilly so most of us head for a cafe for a warm drink. We have a lovely drive to Lake Hawea and the Hawae Conservation Park, and the sun shines with the snow capped mountains- looking like icing sugar on the top. Soon we reach …

The beach at Hokitika is, like many …

Left Queenstown this morning, heading to the glaciers. Passed through an alpine pass which was awesome and then drove through a jungle-like montain road with waterfalls, lakes and many opossoms. :) Finally arrived to the glaciers at 8pm.

Our final two days in New Zealand South Island took us north from Queenstown first to the small hamlet of Franz Joseph, built up entirely to support viewing of the glacier nearby. We then continued northwards to Greymouth from where we took the TranzAlpine train across the Southern Alps back to Christchurch. The scenery throughout was exceptional …
